Math Worksheet Generator
Create a clean, printable maths practice sheet in a few clicks. Choose addition, subtraction, multiplication, division or mixed operations, set an appropriate difficulty and select how many questions to include. The worksheet is generated in your browser, so the title, questions and answer key stay in the current browser tab. Print the worksheet when it is ready, with an optional answer key on a separate page for quick marking.
How to make a maths worksheet
-
1
Choose the skill
Pick one arithmetic operation for focused practice, or mixed operations for a varied review sheet.
-
2
Set the difficulty
Easy uses small facts, medium extends addition and subtraction to 50 and facts to 12, while hard uses larger values and facts to 20.
-
3
Choose the layout
Set a title, choose 5 to 100 questions, pick one or two columns and decide whether to print an answer key.
-
4
Generate and print
Preview a fresh random version until it suits your group, then open your browser print dialog.
Pick practice that matches the next learning step
A useful worksheet makes one decision clear: what is the learner practising? Use a single operation when a class is building fluency with a new fact family. Use mixed operations when learners need to read the operation sign carefully and decide which method applies. Start with a short sheet so mistakes are easy to discuss, then increase the question count when accuracy is steady.
| Level | Addition and subtraction | Multiplication and division | A good use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | Values through 10 | Facts through 10 | First practice and quick warm-ups |
| Medium | Values through 50 | Facts through 12 | Core fact recall and class review |
| Hard | Values through 1,000 | Facts through 20 | Fluency review and more demanding practice |
What the generator does with division
Every division question is built from a multiplication fact. The generator chooses a divisor and a whole-number quotient, then multiplies them to create the dividend. For example, when the chosen divisor is 6 and the quotient is 7, the question is 42 ÷ 6 =. This gives each question an exact whole-number answer. The worksheet does not create remainders, decimals, fractions or long-division layouts.
That makes the tool a good fit for fact fluency. For longer written methods, use the printed questions as a starting point and ask learners to show working on lined paper or in a workbook.
Make the printout easy to use
- Use a specific title. A title such as
Tuesday multiplication reviewhelps learners, families and teachers identify the purpose later. - Match the sheet length to the time available. Ten questions can work as an exit check. Twenty to forty questions suit a short practice session. A longer sheet needs planned breaks.
- Choose one column for larger handwriting. Two columns save paper and work well when learners write compact answers.
- Keep the answer key separate. The optional key begins after the question page, so it can be removed before handing the sheet out.
- Generate another version for retakes. A new version keeps the same settings but creates different facts, which is useful for a second attempt or parallel group.
A simple checking routine
Marking can be more useful than a score alone. Ask the learner to circle questions they found slow, then sort errors by type: calculation slips, incorrect operation choice, or a fact that is not yet automatic. A short follow-up sheet focused on the repeated error is usually more helpful than immediately repeating a long mixed sheet.
Privacy and printing
The generator makes the questions and answer key in the browser. Settings are retained only in browser storage for the current tab so the multi-step flow can continue without placing worksheet details in the URL. They are not submitted through the page component or sent to an external worksheet service. Printing uses your browser’s normal print dialog, where you can select a printer, save a PDF or adjust page settings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Choose Multiplication on the first step. You can also choose Addition, Subtraction, Division or Mixed operations.
No. The generator creates division from multiplication facts, so every division question has an exact whole-number answer.
Choose any whole number from 5 to 100. Use one column when learners need more room to write, or two columns to make a shorter sheet.
Yes. Turn on the separate answer key option before previewing the worksheet. It prints after the questions so you can remove it before distributing the sheet.
No. The generator creates questions in your browser and keeps settings in the current browser tab for the funnel. They are not added to the URL, sent to our servers or shared with external APIs.
