Class Schedule Maker
Put each class meeting into a weekly timetable you can scan before the term gets busy. Add a class name, course or section, location, day, start time, end time, and a card color. Class Schedule Maker orders valid meetings within each day, highlights overlapping time ranges, and keeps the current timetable in browser session storage. When it looks right, print it, download a CSV, or create a local iCalendar file with a weekly recurring event for every valid meeting.
How to make a class schedule
-
1
Add each meeting
Enter up to 30 class meetings. Use a separate row for every day a class meets, including a different location or time for the same course.
-
2
Check the week
Review the day columns in start-time order. Any two valid meetings that overlap on the same day are highlighted for you to adjust.
-
3
Keep a copy
Print the timetable, download the valid meetings as a CSV, or download a recurring .ics calendar file and choose how your calendar app should import it.
Treat each meeting time as its own row
Many courses meet more than once a week, and not always in the same room. Add one row for Monday’s seminar and another for Wednesday’s lab rather than trying to put multiple days into a single row. This makes the timetable easier to read, lets the conflict checker compare exact ranges, and gives the calendar export one recurring weekly event for each meeting.
Use the official course catalogue, registration record, or instructor announcement as the source for a time and room. A personal timetable is useful for planning, but it does not replace a school notice about a changed classroom, cancelled meeting, attendance rule, or time zone.
| Meeting | Day and time | Location | First useful check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organic chemistry lecture | Monday, 09:00 to 10:15 | Science 204 | Confirm the section code |
| Organic chemistry lab | Wednesday, 13:00 to 15:50 | Lab B12 | Check the alternate-week rule |
| Modern history seminar | Thursday, 11:00 to 12:15 | Humanities 14 | Add the reading separately |
Read a highlighted conflict carefully
The tool marks two meetings when their entered ranges overlap on the same weekday. A 09:00 to 10:00 class and a 10:00 to 11:00 class do not overlap. A 09:00 to 10:00 class and a 09:45 to 10:45 class do. The check only uses the rows you enter. It cannot know about travel time, an asynchronous course, alternating weeks, break periods, a waitlist, or a timetable change that has not been entered.
An overlap is a prompt to check the source, not proof that registration is impossible. Some institutions allow a short transition, record a lecture, or schedule a lab in alternating weeks. Correct the rows to reflect the arrangement you actually have before relying on the print or calendar copy.
Export a snapshot, not a live connection
CSV and print give you a snapshot of the valid meetings currently on screen. The downloaded calendar file uses the iCalendar format, which is designed to exchange calendar events independently of any particular calendar service. Each valid row becomes a weekly recurring event beginning with that weekday’s next local occurrence.
The file does not connect this tool to Google Calendar, Outlook, a school portal, or an LMS. It does not import a university schedule, choose a time zone for you, send reminders, watch for room changes, or resolve a conflict automatically. Read your calendar app’s import choices, especially its time-zone and recurrence settings, then check the resulting events against the official schedule.
Class names, course details, rooms, days, and times stay in browser memory and session storage. They are not included in URLs or sent in requests to our servers. Resetting the tool removes its saved session copy; exports are local files you choose to create.
Frequently Asked Questions
You can add up to 30 meetings in the current timetable. Use one row for each day and time a class meets, then remove a row before adding more.
Two valid meetings conflict when they are on the same entered weekday and their time ranges overlap. Meetings that touch at the exact end and start time are not marked as overlapping.
Yes. Add a separate row for each lecture, lab, seminar, or meeting day. This is also the right approach when one course has different rooms or different times.
The .ics file contains one local weekly recurring event for each valid meeting. It begins on that weekday’s next occurrence and includes the class name, course or section as a description, and location when you entered one.
No. It does not sign in, import an official schedule, sync changes, send reminders, or manage calendar accounts. Import the downloaded file into a calendar app only after checking its settings.
No. Class names, courses, locations, days, and times remain in browser memory and session storage. They are not sent in requests to our servers or added to the URL. Resetting removes the saved session copy.
