Blossom Solver

Valid words

Merriam-Webster Blossom style puzzle: a required center letter plus outer letters.

Next

Stuck on today’s Blossom? Drop in the six outer petal letters and the required centre letter, and the solver returns every legal 4-letter-or-longer word you can build — sorted by length, with pangrams (words that use all seven letters) flagged for the bonus. Use it as a nudge when you’re one word from the Genius rank, or to post-mortem a board after you ran out of time.

How to use the Blossom solver

  1. 1

    Enter the centre letter

The single letter that every valid word must contain at least once.

  2. 2

    Enter the six petal letters

Type them in any order. Letters can be reused within a word, so duplicates matter only for counting possibilities.

  3. 3

    Run the solver

The dictionary is scanned for 4+ letter words that use only the seven letters and include the centre.

  4. 4

    Sort and scan

Results group by length, with pangrams pinned to the top. Tap a word to copy it or reveal the score.

Scoring recap

  • 4 letters: 2 points
  • 5 letters: 4 points
  • 6 letters: 6 points
  • 7+ letters (pangram): 12 points plus 7 bonus

Each petal has a “petal-bonus” multiplier on certain days — words that end on that petal score double. The solver lists base score; Blossom’s daily bonus is layered on top by the game itself.

Example board

  • Centre: T
  • Petals: A, R, S, E, L, O

Top picks the solver would return include:

  • STELLAR (pangram, 7 letters)
  • ROASTER, TOASTER (7 letters, near-pangrams)
  • ELATOR, RETAIL, TAILOR (6 letters)
  • STARE, SLATE, RATES (5 letters)
  • TEAR, STAR, TOES (4 letters)

Every word includes T because the centre letter is mandatory on every guess.

Tips for better scores

  • Chase pangrams first — they cross the score threshold for ranks faster than piling up 4-letter words.
  • Watch for -ING and -ED endings when those letters appear in petals; they generate length cheaply.
  • Plurals count if the S is available. Do not forget the trailing S on otherwise-6-letter roots.
  • Avoid proper nouns and hyphenated forms — Blossom accepts standard English dictionary entries only.
