Blank Text Generator

Create blank text

Choose an invisible Unicode character and repeat it from 1 to 500 times.

In the step-by-step view, the character choice and quantity enter the page address; the generated text does not.

Create a precise run of invisible or blank-looking Unicode characters without sending the generated text to a server. Choose Hangul Filler, Braille Pattern Blank, Zero Width Space or Invisible Separator, then repeat it from 1 to 500 times. The result panel identifies the code point, character count and UTF-8 byte count before you copy it. Use the comparison below to pick the character whose documented purpose best matches your text or testing task.

How to generate blank text

  1. 1

    Choose a Unicode character

Compare the four pinned choices by official name, code point and intended function.

  2. 2

    Set an exact quantity

Enter a whole number from 1 to 500. The generator repeats one code point exactly that many times.

  3. 3

    Check and copy the result

Confirm the character and UTF-8 byte counts, then copy the invisible string to the clipboard.

Four blank-looking characters with different meanings

Unicode does not define a generic character whose only purpose is to make an empty social post or username. Each choice in this generator has a specific encoded identity and function. The Unicode names list for Hangul Compatibility Jamo identifies U+3164 as HANGUL FILLER. The Braille Patterns names list notes that U+2800 often looks like a fixed-width blank but does not act as a space.

The Unicode General Punctuation names list defines U+200B ZERO WIDTH SPACE as an invisible word-separation and line-break control. Unicode’s layout guidance explains that it marks a possible word or line break even though it has no intrinsic width. The same official names list identifies U+2063 INVISIBLE SEPARATOR, also called invisible comma, for separating adjacent items in mathematical notation.

Choice Code point Typical rendering Documented purpose
Hangul Filler U+3164 Blank-looking spacing glyph Hangul compatibility filler
Braille Pattern Blank U+2800 Often a fixed-width blank Braille pattern with no raised dots
Zero Width Space U+200B No intrinsic width Word boundary or line-break opportunity
Invisible Separator U+2063 Invisible Separator between mathematical list items

All four code points fall between U+0800 and U+FFFF, so each uses three bytes in UTF-8 under RFC 3629. For example, eight Braille Pattern Blank characters contain exactly 8 Unicode code points and occupy 24 UTF-8 bytes. The tool calculates the byte total with the browser’s UTF-8 encoder, rather than estimating from how wide the result looks.

Blank-looking does not mean interchangeable. A website, editor, search system or messaging app may remove format controls, normalize text, reject unusual characters or display a fallback box. Screen readers and text-processing software can also interpret these code points differently. Test the copied result in its final destination, follow that service’s rules, and do not use invisible text to conceal misleading content. Clipboard access can be denied outside a secure browser context; MDN documents that writeText() can fail with a permission error. The tool then tries the older selection-copy method, which MDN marks as deprecated. If both methods fail, the tool leaves the exact output selected for manual copying.

Frequently Asked Questions

The field contains the selected Unicode code point repeated the requested number of times. These characters are invisible or blank-looking in many fonts, so the visible character count, code point and UTF-8 byte count provide the reliable confirmation.

Choose by semantics, not appearance. Zero Width Space represents a possible word or line break, Invisible Separator belongs to mathematical notation, Braille Pattern Blank is a braille pattern with no raised dots, and Hangul Filler is a Hangul compatibility character.

No. A destination may strip format controls, normalize the string, reject unusual Unicode or show a visible replacement glyph. Paste a short test first and follow the destination’s content and naming rules.

No. Generation, byte counting and copying happen in your browser. In the optional step-by-step view, the selected character ID and quantity appear in the page address so Back and reload can preserve the setup; the generated invisible string is not added to the page address or sent to our servers.
