Pictionary Word Generator

Next

Choose an easy, medium, hard or mixed word bank and generate 1 to 10 random English prompts for a drawing-and-guessing game. Each result starts behind a hidden card, so the active artist can reveal one prompt without exposing the others. The tool supplies words only: it does not include a drawing canvas, timer, scoring, custom word packs or game-room features.

How to use the generator

  1. 1

    Choose a difficulty

Select Easy, Medium, Hard or All to use the three banks together.

  2. 2

    Choose the list size

Request from 1 to 10 hidden prompt cards. Values outside that range are limited to it.

  3. 3

    Generate and reveal

Generate the set, then tap each card only when its artist is ready to see the English prompt.

How prompts are selected

The built-in banks contain 50 list entries for each difficulty: Easy, Medium and Hard. All combines the three banks into a 150-entry pool. The browser randomly selects the requested number of entries and removes each selected entry from the current pool before the next pick. The source lists contain a repeated spelling in Easy and another in Hard, so identical displayed words are still possible in a set even though the same list entry is not selected twice.

Changing the difficulty loads the corresponding built-in pool from the site component. The actual random selection and card reveals then run in the browser. There is no custom-word input and the built-in prompts are in English.

Difficulty levels

Level Typical prompt type Examples Useful for
Easy Familiar concrete words cat, sun, book, tree, cake Children, warm-ups, quick rounds
Medium More detailed objects, creatures and scenes airplane, volcano, lighthouse Families and mixed-experience groups
Hard Mostly abstract or technical concepts democracy, photosynthesis, irony Experienced players seeking a harder drawing challenge
All Entries from all three banks a random mixture Rounds with varied difficulty

Example round

For six turns, set How many to 6 and choose a difficulty. The generator creates six hidden cards. When the first artist is ready, they tap the first card and draw that prompt using whatever paper, board or drawing app the group has chosen. The next artist reveals the next card. Select New words when you want another randomly chosen set.

Practical tips

  • Keep unrevealed cards private. Position the screen so only the current artist sees the prompt they open.
  • Match the level to the players. Hard prompts can be frustrating for children or first-time players.
  • Request only what the round needs. A list can contain 1 to 10 cards; generating fewer reduces accidental reveals.
  • Agree on rules separately. The generator does not enforce time limits, scoring or restrictions on letters, numbers and gestures.

The selected difficulty and list size are handled by the site component to load the appropriate word pool. Random picking and card reveals run in your browser after that pool loads.
