Gift Certificate Maker

Next

Create a polished gift certificate for a salon, bakery, studio, class or any personal treat without starting from a blank page. Enter the business or giver name, recipient, an optional amount in the currency assigned to this language version, a message, an expiry date and a signature; then choose a template, accent colour and paper size. In the four-step version, the certificate preview appears on the final step. In the single-page version, it updates as you type. Your browser prepares the printable design. This maker is for personal and small-business gifting, not legal tender, licensed vouchers, store credit balances or tax documents.

How to make a gift certificate

  1. 1

    Add who it is from

Enter the business or giver name exactly as it should appear, plus an optional signature line for whoever authorises the gift.

  2. 2

    Add who it is for

Write the recipient name, an optional amount that prints in the currency assigned to this language version, and a short message describing the treat or experience.

  3. 3

    Choose validity and style

Set an optional expiry date, then pick a template, accent colour and A4 or US Letter paper to match how you will print it.

  4. 4

    Print or download locally

Check the final preview for spelling and line breaks, confirm the same paper size in your print dialog, or download the PNG file.

A good gift certificate answers four questions

A useful certificate states clearly who issued it, who may redeem it, what it is worth and how long it lasts. Check that both names are readable and write one specific line about the treat: “One sourdough workshop for two” reads better than a vague discount. If you add an amount, the maker formats it with the currency and separators assigned to this language version. For example, the German version uses EUR and the English version uses USD. There is no currency selector or currency conversion.

Field What to include Practical check
Business or giver The name people will recognise Match your signage or invoice name
Recipient The person receiving the gift Double-check the spelling of names
Amount or message A monetary value, a specific treat, or both Say what happens if the purchase costs less
Valid until An optional expiry date Check local rules before setting one
Signed by Whoever authorises the certificate Leave space to sign after printing

Set fair terms before you print

The date field only prints a date on the design. It does not enforce an expiry, check terms, track a balance or validate redemption. Before offering a paid voucher, check the requirements that apply to your business and state the terms separately.

Choose the paper you will actually print on. A4 measures 210 × 297 mm and is standard outside North America; US Letter measures 8.5 × 11 inches. Selecting the matching size again in the browser print dialog avoids unwanted scaling, and printing one proof first shows whether the border survives your printer’s margins.

The certificate is drawn locally in your browser from the details you type. The tool keeps names, amounts and messages in this tab’s session storage so you can move between steps; it does not upload or email those fields. Browser session restoration may retain them. In the four-step version, use Start over on the final step to clear the saved form, and save the downloaded file yourself if you want a copy. When sharing the PNG, include the certificate details as ordinary text too, because the image does not contain selectable text.

Frequently Asked Questions

Use it for personal and small-business gifts: a birthday treatment at your salon, a baking class, a babysitting night, dinner at home or any promise written on paper. It produces a printable keepsake, not a payment instrument.

No. The tool draws a decorative certificate for gifting. It does not create money, store credit balances, regulated vouchers, coupons with barcode validation or tax documents, and it cannot process payments or track redemptions.

The amount prints in the currency assigned to this language version, with localized number formatting. You cannot choose another currency or convert amounts here. Enter digits 0–9 with a comma or point as the decimal mark. With a single type of separator, exactly three trailing digits are treated as a thousands group, so 1,024 means one thousand and twenty-four. Amounts must be greater than zero and no more than 99,999,999. Leave the amount empty for experience-based gifts such as “one guitar lesson”.

The date is optional. Add one only after deciding the terms for your gift and checking any requirements that apply. The tool prints the date you choose without enforcing or validating those terms.

The tool prepares the certificate in your browser and does not upload or email the names, amount or message. It keeps the form in this tab’s session storage between steps, and browser session restoration may retain it. In the four-step version, use Start over on the final step to clear the saved form. Downloaded files remain wherever you save them.

Yes. Fill in one certificate, print or download it, then change the recipient and repeat. Each download saves a separate PNG file named gift-certificate.png, so rename files as you go if you keep copies.
