Blur Faces in Photos Online

This face blur tool does not scan the image or guess where a face begins and ends. You draw every rectangle yourself. That makes it useful for photos where you also need to cover details that a face detector would ignore, such as a badge, screen, address, license plate or document number.

The editing canvas may scale a large photo to fit on screen, but the boxes are mapped back to the original image dimensions when the result is created. You can add several regions, undo the most recent box or clear all boxes and start again.

Blur, pixelate or use a black box?

Blur and pixelation still leave visual patterns in the image. If the material is sensitive, a black box is the most conservative choice among the three options, but covering a face alone does not guarantee anonymity. Clothing, surroundings, tattoos and other context may still identify someone.

Tips for a cleaner face redaction

• Draw beyond the facial features. Include the full area you intend to conceal rather than tracing only the eyes or center of the face.
• Mark every occurrence. Check reflections, background screens, printed photographs and small faces near the edges.
• Use separate boxes where needed. A face and a nearby name badge may need different rectangles, which helps avoid covering more of the photo than necessary.
• Check the final JPEG at full size. Zoom in and review every corner before posting or sending it.
• Keep your source separately. The download is a new file, so your original remains available if you need to make a different edit.

Browser-based processing and output limits

The image is read, edited and prepared for download inside your browser. The tool does not upload the source or the generated image.

The output is always a single JPEG, even when the input is PNG, WebP or GIF. Any GIF or animated WebP input is read as one still, so animation is not preserved. JPEG also does not preserve transparency. If you need a transparent or animated final file, this tool is not the right export workflow. The tool edits the rectangles you select; it does not inspect the rest of the picture for private information, so always review the complete image yourself.
