Excel Sheet Merger

Step 1 / 333%

Combine spreadsheet data without uploading the source files. Keep input sheets separate in one newly written XLSX with safe, source-derived tab names, or append rows into one output sheet after matching headers are verified. The work happens in your browser; a temporary local record supports the steps. After a successful download or Start over, the tool tries to remove it; otherwise it expires after 30 minutes and reports a cleanup problem if it cannot confirm removal.

How to merge spreadsheet sheets

  1. 1

    Add supported workbooks

Choose XLSX, XLS, XLSM, XLSB or ODS files. Their contents stay in your browser.

  2. 2

    Choose the result structure

Keep sheets separate to collect them in one XLSX, or append rows when every sheet uses matching column headers.

  3. 3

    Resolve compatibility notices

Row append stops instead of guessing when headers differ. Correct the source headers or keep the sheets separate.

  4. 4

    Create and download

Review the output summary, create a new XLSX and download it directly from this browser.

Choose a merge mode

Mode Best for What the tool does
Keep sheets separate Workbooks whose tabs should remain distinct Adds each input sheet to one new XLSX and gives every output tab a safe, unique name derived from its source.
Append rows Repeated exports with the same column headings Creates one output sheet by appending data rows after it verifies matching headers in every selected sheet.

Row append is not a database join. It does not match customers, orders or other records by a key. If the header rows do not match, the tool reports the incompatible input instead of trying to align columns.

Know what the new XLSX contains

The download is a newly written XLSX workbook. In keep-sheets-separate mode, formulas and external hyperlinks, including their link targets, are retained inside the source worksheets. Append-rows mode writes plain values only, so it removes formulas and hyperlinks. Formatting is not guaranteed in either mode. Do not rely on the output to keep macros, named ranges, charts, data validation or external workbook references. An XLSM file can be used as input, but the downloaded XLSX is not macro-enabled and does not retain macros.

Hidden and VeryHidden worksheets retain their original visibility in keep-sheets-separate mode. Append-rows mode skips them and shows a notice.

Keep the original files until you have checked the result. This tool does not modify them.

Prepare files for row append

  • Use the same header names in the same order in every sheet you want to append.
  • Make sure each source has a header row. A sheet without one is not suitable for row append.
  • Use separate-sheets mode when tabs represent different kinds of information.
  • Check the output summary before creating the download, especially after changing the file order.

Private browser processing

Source files are read in this browser and are not uploaded to a server. During the multi-step flow, a temporary local browser record keeps the selected work available between steps. After a successful download or Start over, the tool tries to remove that record; otherwise it expires after 30 minutes. If the browser cannot confirm removal, the tool shows a storage error so you can retry. The tool does not provide a source-file sharing or server-storage feature.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can add XLSX, XLS, XLSM, XLSB and ODS workbooks. The result is always a newly created XLSX file.

No. This is not a key-based join tool. Use separate sheets, or append rows only when the selected sheets have matching headers.

The tool reports the incompatible sheets and does not create a potentially misaligned result. Make the header rows match, or choose separate-sheets mode.

Keep-sheets-separate mode retains formulas and external hyperlinks, including their targets, inside the source worksheets. Append-rows mode writes plain values and removes both. The output is macro-free and formatting is not guaranteed; do not rely on it to retain named ranges, charts, data validation or external workbook references.

No. Files stay in your browser and are not uploaded to our server. Temporary local browser storage carries the task between steps. After a successful download or Start over, the tool tries to remove it; otherwise it expires after 30 minutes. A storage error is shown if removal cannot be confirmed.
