Crop JPG
Choose a JPG
·
The browser decodes the visible image, crops it, and creates a new JPEG. Metadata is not copied, and JPEG re-encoding can change fine detail.
Choose the exact part of a JPG you want to keep. Drag a rectangle on the preview or enter X, Y, width, and height in pixels, set the output quality, and download a newly encoded JPEG. The source and result stay in your browser.
How to crop a JPG
-
1
Choose a JPG
Select one valid JPG or JPEG up to 20 MB, 24 megapixels, and 8192 pixels on either side.
-
2
Set the crop area
Drag over the preview or enter exact pixel coordinates. The tool keeps the rectangle inside the visible image.
-
3
Create and download
Choose quality from 40% to 100%, create the crop, review its dimensions and size, then download it.
What the cropper changes
The browser decodes the displayed image, copies the selected pixels to a new canvas, and encodes a new JPEG. This is not lossless MCU cropping. JPEG re-encoding may change fine texture, especially at lower quality settings. The new file does not copy EXIF, GPS, camera, or other source metadata.
Private multi-step editing
No source image or result is sent to the server. In the multi-step flow, the browser stores the project in IndexedDB for up to 30 minutes so Back and reload can restore it. The URL contains only an opaque project ID and crop settings. Start over removes the saved project when browser storage permits.
Practical limits
The tool accepts one genuine JPG or JPEG up to 20 MB. Encoded and displayed dimensions are checked before editing, with limits of 24 megapixels and 8192 pixels per side. The generated JPEG is limited to 25 MB. For resizing, aspect-ratio presets, padding, or metadata retention, use a purpose-built image tool.
