Chore Chart Maker

Chore chart

Add up to 30 short, specific tasks. Their order becomes the row order in the chart.

Turn a list of household tasks and names into a seven-day rotation. The same seed, lists and order always produce the same assignments, so you can repeat a schedule or change the seed to explore another one. Names and chores remain in your browser.

How to make a weekly chore chart

  1. 1

    List the chores

Add up to 30 short, specific tasks and put them in the order you want.

  2. 2

    Add the people

Enter up to 12 display names for the people sharing the work.

  3. 3

    Choose a seed

Keep the default seed, type your own, or generate a new one to change the repeatable rotation.

  4. 4

    Review and download

Check every daily assignment in the accessible table, then save the chart as a PNG image.

What the rotation does

The maker assigns one person to each chore on each day from Monday through Sunday. It uses the seed together with each chore’s position, so identical inputs reproduce the same chart. A changed seed or reordered list may produce a different assignment.

This is a planning aid, not a fairness calculator. Review the finished week for workload, ability, availability and safety. Adjust the lists or seed when the result does not suit your household.

Write useful chore names

  • Prefer a clear action such as load the dishwasher after dinner over a broad label such as help in the kitchen.
  • Split large jobs into manageable tasks when different people can handle different parts.
  • Keep safety, age, accessibility and supervision needs in mind before assigning a task.
  • Revisit the chart when schedules or responsibilities change.

Privacy, storage and export

The names, chores and seed are handled in your browser. In the optional step-by-step version, the record is eligible for restoration for two hours. While the page is open it is removed at the deadline; if no tool page is open then, it is removed the next time this tool opens. The values are not placed in the URL or sent through Livewire. The download is a PNG image; the tool does not create a PDF, completion checkboxes or a reward tracker.
