Write the front and back

A small format needs a clear hierarchy
A reading bookmark is narrow enough that every line has to earn its place. Start with a short title, use one quote or reading note, then name the source, reader, club, or gift giver in the attribution. A long passage can be beautiful in a book but awkward at bookmark scale. If the preview wraps too many lines, shorten the quote before making the type smaller.
This maker places three paired bookmarks on one portrait page. The front and back pages share the same trim coordinates; the back order is reversed across the page so it can be paired during a duplex print workflow. That arrangement is a layout aid, not a promise that every printer will turn the sheet the same way. Printer trays, duplex paths, and long-edge or short-edge settings differ. Print one proof on ordinary paper, compare both sides against the cut guides, and only then use heavier stock.

Trim safely, then test the reverse
The fine corner marks sit outside each finished trim area, so they are guides for cutting rather than artwork that should remain on the bookmark. A 5 mm safe inset keeps the important title, quote, and attribution away from the trim edge. The output includes those visual cut guides, but does not add professional printer bleed, a CMYK profile, embedded fonts, or printer-specific alignment correction. If a print supplier needs those production specifications, give them the PDF as a visual draft and use their template or preflight process.
The optional image is intentionally conservative: PNG, JPEG, or WebP only, with a 500 KB limit. It is decoded locally for the front design and is not placed in session storage. This means you should choose the image again after moving through the funnel pages. The text survives only in the browser session to make the multi-step workflow practical; it is not placed in a link or sent through Livewire.
