Choose an output format

Input support depends on the browser’s own image decoder. JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP are common choices. AVIF works only where the browser can decode the selected file. The tool does not claim HEIC or TIFF support. An animated GIF, WebP or AVIF is converted from the first frame the browser decodes, not preserved as an animation.

What changes during conversion

The canvas keeps the decoded width and height. It does not resize, crop or preserve a folder tree. Re-encoding pixels does not copy embedded metadata such as EXIF camera details, orientation tags or GPS coordinates. The tool has no option to retain selected metadata. Check orientation and colour appearance in the previews before downloading, especially when the source depends on embedded metadata or a colour profile.

Local processing and temporary browser storage

Image decoding, canvas conversion and ZIP creation happen in your browser. Source files are not sent through Livewire, placed in the URL or uploaded by the download action. In the standard one-page view, the batch stays in the current page’s memory. In the four-step view, the source batch is temporarily stored in this browser’s IndexedDB so it survives navigation between steps. Selecting Start over removes that stored batch.

Resource limits

The converter accepts at most 20 images, 10 MB per file and 50 MB in total. Each decoded image is limited to 24 megapixels and 8192 pixels on either side. These limits reduce, but cannot eliminate, browser memory pressure because decoded pixels and converted copies can use much more memory than compressed source files. On a phone or low-memory device, use smaller batches and close other heavy tabs if conversion fails.
